Can Christians get Tattoos?
Many times, one of the biggest warnings that young people who grow up in church get is to “not get tattoos”, and when you come from a hispanic culture like that of our church, it becomes clear as to why it would be something you don’t do, as it can be attributed to gangs or rebelliousness. But amongst the culture shift we are witnessing in America, is that still a good enough reason? Does the Leviticus prohibition apply to our society especially when looked at in its context?
Today’s question is all about that culture difference, specifically around tattoos. “Can Christians get tattoos?” Leviticus is fairly specific about what the Lord says, but we examine this passage along with other considerations to help you the listener understand the "why?" Of the position our ministry holds. This subject is rather complicated and difficult, especially amongst young people who have been told to not get tattoos but see nothing wrong about getting tattoos. Although other loving and passionate followers of Christ may have slightly different views, we hope this podcast will be edifying to you today.
