One of the things that has been constant through the flow of all human history has been art and self-expression. Among those things has been a little something called music. People use music all the time to express the things they care about. Whether it is heartbreak and loss, or joy and love, or any intense emotion, people have been built to sing and dance and feel so such an intensity. And it’s an expression of something that only we as humans have been given.
Within song people have divided the medium up to different genres, one of which we are talking about today: Christian music, specifically modern Christian contemporary music. Why? Because in CCM’s history, there has been two sides debating on whether modern christian music is capable of glorifying God, and also which songs are good praise to God. The question of the week is “Is God glorified in Christian Contemporary Music?”. The way the original submission was worded was “How do we distinguish which contemporary christian bands actually honor God and which don’t?” And that is a valid concern, which we are going to talk about today. We talk about the trends of modern Christian music, we talk about what makes a Christian song actually glorifying to God, and a whole lot more.
